SHEN TAO Studio offers a vocabulary of exercises performable by participants at all levels of physical conditioning from beginner to the most advanced professional.
Intermediate and Advanced exercises can be modified to accommodate the limitations imposed by soft tissue blockage, inflammation, and physical disability.
The Vocabulary of Exercises which can be performed on SHEN TAO Studio's equipment can be grouped into three categories:
1. Movement Patterns developed for, and unique to SHEN TAO Studio's signature line of equipment.
2. Choreography drawn from other physical conditioning disciplines (i.e. Pilates, Yoga, Martial Arts systems, competitive sports, and movement/performance art forms such as Ballet, Modern Dance etc.) which can be performed until the SHEN TAO approach to APPARATUS ASSISTED RESISTANCE TRAINING. Training.
By utilizing the 24 foot length of potential travel of our weight and pulley systems, it is possible to utilize apparatus generated resistance to literally any movement pattern.
3. The Vocabulary of Exercises YOU will develop. An aspect of SHEN TAO Studio's Mission is to support YOU, the movement educator, in the development of your own approach and vocabulary to the art of physical conditioning.
Practitioners are encouraged to utilize SHEN TAO Studio equipment in order to explore, improvise, and create the system of movement that works for you.
